My entire time to put the quiz together this morning was lost to a tantrum. Please post your recipes for tranquility below.

Ask whoever's throwing the tantrum this question:

"We all know about Mesmer from a March wombat question - he was a quack from Austria who got famous in Paris for his "animal magnetism" therapy, and whose legacy leaves us the word mesmerize.

BUT - did you know he was scrutinized and discredited by a committee appointed by Louis XVI?

You did? Well, Mr./Mrs./Miss Smartypants, what non-Frenchman was on the committee?"

If that doesn't captivate, nay, MESMERIZE the tantrumer, nothing will.

BTW, does anybody know what non-Frenchman was on the committee?
