A Great Day

With much help from S. Redmond today we installed MT at the Wombat File Remote Facility in Jackelope County. A greater-than-average humidity spike, a slight flattening of soil pH fluctuations (confirmed by Don Z. from Jackelope Tech -- thanks, Don!), and the appearance of three Spellman's Warblers were all seen by the gathered crowd as auspicious signs of the installation's success. Commissioner Bold said a few words to mark the occasion, reminding the assembled that "God's will is hidden, but his hand marks all creation, from the loftiest of our endeavors to the most trivial shuffling of the cards of our days."

Following the installation and ceremony, tea and biscuits were served by the Children's Auxiliary.

Chock full o' Movable Type goodness - and the return of comments! Hallelujah!

Yes -- the comments are finally here to stay. I'm still wrestling with the template, though. I think that something in the CSS is causing the lefthand column (the content space) to render in this weird way, which makes it really narrow and leaves that gap between it and the bar on the right. That or I have some glitch on the page that's causing this.

Of course, I wanted (and still want) to revise this whole page again, along with some structural innovations I want to make (which themselves were the whole motivator behind getting and installing MT) -- but I just don't have the time I'd like this week to sit down with the books and work on it. And my HTML is still like my Spanish: slow, simple, and sometimes productive of unfortunate and painfully comic results.
